Elfriede was Lutz’s superior/mentor – basically his Alison – who sacrificed herself to stop one of the bad guys in Saga 5. Her rank as High Inquisitor was already contentious due to her young age and noble lineage, aaaannnnd then Lutz, who is even younger and a reviled hagspawn, got fast tracked to fill her spot. It was a lot of work and an uphill battle for him the past year.
